The upcoming IPL Auction ahead of the 2026 season will be held on December 16, the BCCI confirmed on Saturday (November 15). Cricbuzz had earlier reported that the mini auction will be held overseas in the middle of December in the gulf region. The BCCI confirmed that the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi has been chosen as the venue for the auction.
On a day when all ten teams submitted their list of retained players, it was also confirmed that the teams will have a combined purse of INR 237.55 Cr to spend in the auction. Following the retention, a maximum of 77 slots can now be filled in the auction with 31 of them belonging to overseas players.
